McNair Mini School Christmas Potluck

Dear Mini School Students and Parents,

Thank you so much for attending our Annual McNair Mini School Christmas Potluck!  I hope that you had a wonderful time with the great variety of food, and the excellent entertainment put on by the classes!  The energy and creativity of our students never ceases to amaze.  It is a great tradition of the Mini School and it just seems to keep getting better every year.

This function also allowed us to raise funds for our Social Responsibility Project.  This year, we raised approximately $1000 for the less fortunate.  As our great MC’s mentioned, all proceeds will go to purchasing a meal at the downtown east side’s Salvation Army Harbour Light Branch and I know they will be thrilled with our donation!  Our grade 12’s will work alongside those recovering in the detox program to prepare, serve, and clean up the lunch time meal (date TBA).  Last year, 400 people came through the facility for lunch.  It truly is a great experience for our students who always ask if they can go back.  Special thanks go to everyone who made a contribution to this event, and especially those who contributed to our silent auction.  You know who you are!  Also, this event would not have been possible without the organizing of the Grade 11 Team and Ms. Hunt and Ms. Fuller.

There are only days left until the Christmas Holidays.  On behalf of the entire Mini School Staff, I would like to wish you and your entire family a safe and wonderful holiday season that is full of family, fun, and rest.

Mr. Soong
