Happy Holidays from the Mini School!

Thank you to all students, parents, siblings and staff that joined us for the annual Mini potluck on Tuesday, December 13, 2011!

Take a look at some of the highlights from the evening:

These grade nines, known as the Westcoast Movement, kicked off the night with a rocking medley of traditional carols!

Grade 11 Candace Fan performed an incredibly beautiful ballet solo to Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker Suite.

Talented Gr. 10 musicians Harvey and Chris performed one of their own Christmas songs, “When Santa Eats His Cookies.”

We were also treated to a holiday-inspired duet by classical musicians from the grade 12 class: Rachel on the flute and Courtney on the bassoon!

To wrap up the evening, these festive grade 11s sang an a Capella mash-up of carols mixed with an Adele song. Bravo!

While we enjoyed delicious food, desserts and entertainment, we were also reminded of our special fundraiser of the night. Our gorgeous grade baskets and auction items helped us raise nearly $1000 to send our grade 12s to a downtown east side soup kitchen next semester! Thank you so much for your generosity and good will. Even amidst the busyness of Christmas, the Mini potluck always allows us to come together in a fun and meaningful way!

From all your Mini school staff and students, have a restful, joyful holiday season.

See you in 2012!
