The Christmas Potluck

Dear Parents,

Please mark your calendars for Tuesday, Dec 4th (6:30pm in the Large Gym) for the Mini School’s annual Christmas Potluck Evening!

Every year, our mini school family gathers to bring in the Christmas season with a meal shared together and some lively entertainment.  Students in each grade will be working on their performances over the next few weeks.

As is our custom, each grade is putting together a themed basket that will then be auctioned off.  All proceeds from the baskets will go towards the Grade 12 student’s visit to the Union Gospel Mission.

Every year our grade 12 students go to the Union Gospel Mission’s Shelter on the downtown eastside of Vancouver.  The students provide the funding for the days meal and then work with the staff at the shelter to prepare and serve the meal for the homeless of the downtown eastside. This is an invaluable experience for our students and we are very proud of our involvement with this organization.

The baskets being prepared by the students include:

Grade 8s:  Movie Night basket
Grade 9s:  Candy/ Chocolate basket
Grade 10s:  Coffee / Tea basket
Grade 11s:  Family Fun Night Basket
Grade 12s:  Spa / Pamper me basket

If you have any items you would like to donate to this worthy cause please contact Mrs. Watts at school (twatts@sd38.bc.ca 604 668 6575) and we will add you items to our auction.

We look forward to seeing you all on Tuesday, Dec 4th to enjoy some Christmas cheer.  Thank you for all of your time and effort in supporting this charitable event.
